About the Journal

International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies ISSN 2709-4952  is an international open access and double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes high quality research in English and comparative literary studies. The focus of the journal also includes the role of translation in comparative literature, diaspora literature, world literature, and critical theory.

The aim is to disseminate cutting-edge research that explores the interrelationship between national and transnational literatures. The journal seeks to provide a forum for researchers interested in the interaction between literature, translation, and media studies.

Peer Review Process: 

The submitted manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission to International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies. All paper submissions will be refereed in a double-blind review process by at least two international reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.

The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It is then evaluated in the office to check whether it is suitable for IJECLS’s focus and scope or it it has a major methodological flaw  or a high similarity score by using Turnitin.

The manuscript is after then sent to at least two anonymous reviewers (Double Blind Review). Reviewers’ comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses.

The suggested decision will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterwards, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.

Open Access Policy: 

International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies  is an open access journal which provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles without charging readers or their institutions for access. Readers have right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles in International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author’s work. For more information on this approach, see the Public Knowledge Project, which has designed this system to improve the scholarly and public quality of research, and which freely distributes the journal system as well as other software to support the open access publishing of scholarly resources.

Screening for Plagiarism

All submissions are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin originality checking software before they undergo the peer-review process.   The papers submitted to International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies must have similarity level less than 20%.

The author accepts that a submitted manuscript is screened for plagiarism against previously published works. Manuscripts that are found to have been highly-plagiarized will incur plagiarism sanctions: immediate rejection of the submitted manuscript or published article, prohibition of any new submissions.

All Articles published in the International Journal of English and Comparative Literary Studies are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License which allows users including authors of articles to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, in addition to remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for non-commercial purposes, as long as the author and original source are properly cited or credited.

By submitting an article, the author grants to this journal the non-exclusive right to publish it. The author retains the copyright and the publishing rights for his/her article without any restrictions.
